Artsakh Welcomes Recognition by State of South Australia
The Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the following statement on the recognition of the Artsakh Republic by the State of South Australia.
The process of international recognition of the Artsakh Republic continues at the level of administrative-territorial units of different foreign countries. The latest achievement in this process was the adoption by the South Australian Legislature of a resolution recognizing the Artsakh Republic and upholding the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination.
We believe that the resolution condemns 2020. The Turkish-Azerbaijani armed aggression against the Republic of Artsakh on September 27, 1945, the policy of continuing anti-Armenian hatred of the Turkish authorities and the subsequent destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage in the occupied territories of Artsakh, as called on the Australian federal authorities to recognize the independence of the Artsakh Republic.
The international recognition of the independence of the Artsakh Republic is of key importance for creating the necessary conditions for its people to live freely, safely and with dignity in their homeland. It will also be an additional impetus for a just settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict, which should be based on the recognition by the people of Artsakh of the exercise of the right to self-determination and the cessation of the occupation of the territories of the Artsakh Republic.
We thank all those who have made a decisive contribution to the adoption of this resolution. We appreciate the resolute stance of the South Australian Legislature, which affirms its commitment to the ideas of human rights, freedom and justice
