Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan left for Iceland today to attend the 4th summit of the Council of Europe in Reykjavik.
Vahagn Vermishyan, former chairman of Armenia’s Urban Development Committee was sentenced to eight years imprisonment after a Yerevan court found him guilty of bribery and fraud.
A detailed exchange took place during the meeting in order to reach concrete results on drafting of the bilateral peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the delimitation of borders, and the restoration of communications.
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan’s office released the following statement on Sunday’s tripartite meeting in Brussels between Pashinyan, President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
I believe that it is important to refrain from hostile rhetoric, engage in good faith and show leadership to reach mutually-acceptable solutions.
A 2020 cease-fire left residents surrounded by Azerbaijani forces, and under the dubious protection of Russian peacekeepers. This year, conditions have grown even worse.
