Police in Armenia report that former National Assembly MP Harutyun Gharagyozyan (aka Caramel Harut) has committed suicide in Yerevan.

The body, with a gunshot wound to the head, was found today in a stone manufacturing plant in the Davtashen district A pistol was found nearby.

Rumors surfaced that Gharagyozyan was a suspect in the October 6 murder of another former MP, Karo Karapetyan.

Karapetyan was shot in a Yerevan eatery and died in hospital.
