Movses Hakobyan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Armenia’s Armed Forces, today said that 7,269 individuals were drafted in the country’s 2015 summer conscription program.

Hakobyan made the statement at a session of the Armenia’s National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs discussing a number of outstanding issues related to the draft process.

Koryun Nahapetyan, who heads the committee, told members that progress was being made to lessen associated corruption risks and to increase overall monitoring of the process.
