Republican Party MP Gagik Minasyan stated today that one can label the Turkish-Armenian normalization process to date as a ‘preparatory stage’ and that what awaits Armenia is the beginning of a long-term stage of negotiations.
He said today that Armenia was at a crossroads where either Turkey would prove its sincere intentions and quickly ratify the protocols with preconditions or would continue to stall. In that case, MP Minasyan said he couldn’t rule out the possibility that Armenia would pull out of the negotiations.
MP Minasyan said that in the stage just completed Armenia proved to the world that it was an active political player both regionally and internationally.
"Our active political participation which stems from our state interests, was at the center at international political attention and dovetailed with the political processes envisaged by the powers that be," MP Minasyan argued.
As a result, he stated that Armenia had gained valuable political points and had strengthened its relations with the U.S. and members of the European Union.
