Trial of Two "March 1st Seven" Defendants Resumes
The trial of "March 1st Seven" defendants Alexander Arzumanyan and Suren Sirounyan resumed today at the Kentron and Nork-Marsh Court of First Instance. Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan presiding. The two are charged with organizing mass public disturbances.
At today's session the court interrogated witnesses Zaven Vardanyan and Tigran Hakobyan. The two testified that Arzumanyan and Sirounyan hadn't organized any such disturbances, that they witnessed nothing of the kind and "that if anything of the kind took place, today the accused have nothing to do with it."
Then Prosecutor Koryun Piloyan read out eight pages of testimony previously given by Tigran Hakobyan in which the names of Arzumanyan amd Sirounyan were never mentioned.
This prompted defendant Arzumanyan to ask, "What connection does this testimony have with our case? Our names aren't even mentioned in it. Perhaps another case is being tried here and we don't know about it."
