Jahangiryan Addresses Empty Parliament About March 1 Committee
At this moment, ANC MP Gagik Jahangiryan is at the podium arguing for the creation of an ad-hoc committee to look into the events of March 1, 2008.
He’s making the pitch to row upon row of empty seats.
Jahangiryan noted that such an important issue should be debated in a packed legislature which was the case earlier today when MPs discussed a government proposal to create a natural gas ad-hoc committee.
(On March 1, 2008 ten people were killed in Yerevan when the national police and military tried to disperse mass protests in the wake of a contested presidential election)
