Throngs have gathered in Yerevan’s Liberty Square to voice their opposition to a mandatory pension system that took effect as of January 1.

The RA Constitutional Court is scheduled to rule on January 25 as to whether the system, as currently formulated, is unconstitutional or not.

Four political parties (ANC, ARF, Prosperous Armenia and Heritage) petitioned the highest court in the land, claiming that the system violates the constitution.

MPs from the parties are scheduled to address the crowd.
