Armenian Deputy FM, New EUPM Head Meet in Yerevan
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Ambassador Cosmin George Dinescu, Head of Mission for the newly established European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia), met today in Yerevan.
Kostanyan, according to his office, welcomed the decision of the EU Foreign Affairs Council to deploy a new EU civilian mission in Armenia, highlighting the role of the mission in strengthening cooperation between Armenia and the EU against cyberattacks, disinformation and illicit financial flows.
The parties discussed the necessary steps aimed at fully building the mission's capabilities, stressing the importance of effective cooperation with Armenian partners in implementing activities stemming from the mission's mandate was emphasized.
The newly established European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia) has an initial mandate of one year, starting on 11 June 2026.
The decision was taken by the EU’s Political and Security Committee.
