Armenian Internal Affairs Delegation Visits Romania for Cooperation Talks

On April 21-23, a delegation led by Armenian Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan was on an official visit to Bucharest.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen and develop institutional cooperation between the two countries aimed at implementing radical reforms in the human resources management system.

At the meeting, State Secretary Bogdan Despescu at the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, issues of expanding bilateral cooperation, exchanging best practices, as well as issues of mutual interest were discussed.

The delegation also visited the Romanian Police Academy. Discussions related to the educational sphere continued at the meeting with Rector Catalin Andrush. The parties expressed their willingness to expand cooperation.

Armenia’s delegation included Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Hakobyan, Rector of the Educational Complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Manuk Muradyan, as well as representatives of other structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The visit was organized with funding from the U.S. government and support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in partnership with the Alexandru Ioan Cuza Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania.
