Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today sent a communique to U.S. President Donald Trump, congratulating him and the American people on Independence Day.

“Armenia and the United States are united by the historic friendship of our peoples, our commitment to democratic principles and Christian values, and our unwavering commitment to freedom, dignity, and justice,” the message reads.

Pashinyan writes that Armenia highly appreciates the strategic partnership between the two countries and hopes to further expand cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially trade, high technology, energy, mining, transportation, and infrastructure.

“I highly appreciate your vision of ending conflicts and establishing peace in the world. I am confident that under your leadership, the United States will make a fundamental contribution to establishing long-awaited peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus,” Pashinyan writes Trump.
