Pashinyan, Erdoğan Discuss Normalization Process at Istanbul Meeting
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met in Istanbul yesterday and discussed prospects for normalizing relations between their two countries.
The two met at Istanbul’s Dolmabahçe Palace, an Ottoman-era building designed by the Armenian Balyan family of architects.
The parties, according to Pashinyan's office, emphasized the importance of continuing constructive dialogue and achieving concrete results. The two delegations also touched upon regional developments and possible directions of bilateral cooperation in this context.
The leaders of the two countries reaffirmed their readiness to continue direct contact and dialogue.
They exchanged views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, as well as the Armenian government's Crossroads of Peace project.
Erdoğan’s office, in a brief statement, merely reported that the two had met but provided no specifics on what was discussed.
