Yerevan: Border Deal Protest Leader Says Government is “Frightened”
Opponents of the Armenian government’s border deal with Azerbaijan rallied outside the Government Building in Yerevan today as Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan convened a cabinet meeting inside.
Opposition MP Garnik Danielyan, who has come to public attention as one of the leaders of the “Tavush for the Homeland” movement, addressed the crowd and said the government is “frightened” by the ongoing rallies and street protests in Yerevan the movement has organized.
Danielyan, a member of the Hayastan (Armenia) parliamentary faction, was born in Ijevan, a town of 20,000 in the country’s Tavush Province.
