The International Red Cross Committee of Armenia has launched talks to resume the shipment of humanitarian aid to Artsakh.

Committee spokesperson Zara Amatuni told Hetq that talks are underway with regional decision-makers. 

Azerbaijan banned all humanitarian passenger and cargo transport through the corridor that links Armenia and Artsakh on June 15 following a clash between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops along the Lachin Corridor.

The sides blamed each other for firing first.

One Armenian soldier was wounded in the clash that Armenia’s National Security Service claimed was triggered when Armenian border guards prevented a group of Azerbaijani soldiers from planting an Azerbaijani flag in Armenian territory near the Hakari Bridge at the entrance to the Lachin Corridor.
