Minutes ago, Slaven Bilić, coach of Croatia’s football team, congratulated his players for their convincing 3-1 win over the Republic of Ireland.

Both teams played well with head shots on goal but the Irish seemed to have more problems with their air game.

The win puts the Croats at the top of Group C in the Euro 2012 tournament with 3 points. Group favorites Spain and Italy earlier played to a 1-1 draw.

After Sunday’s matches Croatiais in first place with 3 points, followed by Italy and Spain with1 point apiece. Ireland is in last place in the group with no points.
