Criminal Case Initiated against the Employees of "Saint Mary" Medical Center
A criminal case was initiated on improper, careless and not diligent implementation of professional duties by the employees of the "Saint Mary" Medical Center.
The prosecutor of Shengavit administrative districts tasked to investigate the mass media publications of May 10-11, 2011 and the materials of this investigation revealed that on May 3, 2011, at about 10:30 a.m., a group of medical employees of the "Saint Mary" Medical Center, being responsible for carrying out medical aid and service, had implemented their professional duties improperly in a careless and not diligent manner.
In particular, they had taken to the operating-room the resident of Akhuryan village of Shirak region N. Darbinyan born in 2006 who was not to be operated instead of the resident of Ejmiatsin town of Armavir region G. Movsisyan born in 2004 who was to be operated. The employees of the above-mentioned medical center had operated N. Darbinyan by causing medium-gravity damage to the patient's health that is long-term health impairment.
Prosecutor General's office reports that the criminal case was initiated according to the RA Criminal Code Article 130 by the Shengavit Investigation Division of the RA Police.
