The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs issued the following statement on December 20.

We welcome the statements by the Turkish and Armenian authorities announcing the appointment by each of them of a special representative responsible for working to normalize relations between the two countries, a process to which France will lend its full support. 

This process should help bring more stability and development to the South Caucasus region.
