Martuni Mayor Edik Avanesyan today reported that despite recent Azerbaijani shelling, the town remains defiant and will rebuild.

Avanesyan, in a statement today, said that the Artsakh Defense Army and local militia have repulsed all Azerbaijani attempts to advance on the town located on the Artsakh eastern border.

“The enemy has received an appropriate response it will long remember. Martuni, in general, remains in the same position as in the 1990s. Martuni and its residents stand tall and strong. It will persevere until the end and will emerge victorious,” Avensyan said.
