Turkish Justice Minister: “Dink Murder Trial not Over”
Turkey’s Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin said today that the Hrant Dink murder case has not yet concluded.
Ergin made the comment during a press conference today regarding the verdict handed down yesterday by a Turkish court according to which one suspect was sentenced to life for masterminding the 2007 murder while acquitting all of organized crime charges.
“You know trials are made up of three phases, which are investigation, prosecution and the appeals process. There is also an appeals process for this trial. The case has not been concluded yet; it is still in progress,” Ergin said.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç also criticized the ruling on Wednesday saying it did not satisfy the “public conscience.”
