Andranik Tevanyan's Detention Extended
The detention of Andranik Tevanyan, the second candidate on the electoral list of the Prosperous Armenia party in Armenia's recent parliamentary election, has been extended by two months.
On May 21, 2026, Armenia’s Investigative Committee accused Tevanyan of being recruited by foreign intelligence services in 2024 and of passing on state secrets in exchange for $622,000.
Tevanyan rejects the charges, describing the case as ‘fabricated’ and ‘nonsense’.
