UNICEF Report: More Than 668,000 Children in Armenia Exposed to Air Pollution
According to UNICEF’s Children’s Climate Risk Report 2026, more than 668,000 children in Armenia are exposed to air pollution.
The report provides the most detailed global picture to date of where children face the greatest climate risks.
Regarding Armenia, the reports says that more than 650,000 children inn Armenia are exposed to meteorological drought, more than 375,000 to agricultural drought, 460,000 to frequent heat waves, and about 20,000 to floods caused by overflowing rivers.
According to the report, nearly half of the world’s children—about 1.1 billion—are exposed to at least three climate hazards at once, putting their health, education, and lives at risk
The report also warns that almost every child worldwide faces at least one climate hazard, and more than four million could be exposed to as many as six simultaneously.
Based on the latest data, the report maps the eight climate hazards children most often face: coastal flooding, drought, extreme heat, fires, heat waves, flash floods, sand and dust storms, and tropical cyclones.
For the first time, it shows where multiple, interconnected hazards affect children and the services they rely on and outlines practical steps governments can take to respond.
