CIS to Send 120 Election Observers to Armenia
The Moscow-backed Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will deploy 120 observers to Armenia for the country’s June parliamentary election.
A delegation led by CIS Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Seitimov today, in Yerevan, met with Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan.
The CIS observers will join election observers deployed to Armenia by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
