Pashinyan: Development of Science Is a Core State Policy
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, addressing a roundtable discussion at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia titled “Armenian Science in the Global Research Area: Competitiveness, Scientific Excellence and the Realization of Scientific Results in the Economy, stressed that the government should not be seen as merely supporting science, arguing that science development is a core state policy.
Pashinyan thanked event organizers for holding the discussion and stressed the importance of regular dialogue on the development of the scientific sector.
He highlighted significant progress in state funding for science, stating that compared to 2017, financing for the sector in 2025 increased by nearly 2.8 times, or 185 percent and that wages in the sector have risen by as much as 300 percent.
