Armenian FM, EU VP Meet in Brussels; Discuss Upcoming Yerevan Summit
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Kaja Kallas (Vice-President of the European Commission and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy) met in Brussels today and discussed preparations to hold the first-ever Armenia-EU summit in Yerevan this May.
The two, according to Mirzoyan’s office, emphasized the importance of implementing mutually beneficial programs to promote economic and transport connectivity, as well as cooperation in the energy sector.
They also discussed initiatives aimed at continuously strengthening democratic resilience, which is an important component of the Armenia-EU value-based partnership and strategic agenda.
Key leaders, including European Council President António Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, will gather in Yerevan on May 4-5 to focus on enhancing partnerships in energy, transport, and digital connectivity, alongside strengthening democratic institutions and regional security.
