Armenian, Omani Foreign Ministers Meet, Discuss Mid-East Conflict
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamud Al-Busaidi met today in Muscat and discussed the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing diplomacy in resolving the conflict.
The two officials, according to Mirzoyan's office, expressed concern regarding the targeting of civilian sites and the resultant casualties.
They also discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation between Armenia and Oman.
Badr bin Hamad bin Hamud Al-Busaidi thanked Mirzoyan for visiting Oman despite the current difficult regional situation, describing the visit as historic.
They emphasized that the Armenia's decision to open a resident embassy in Oman is an important milestone on the path to further deepening bilateral relations.
Mirzoyan thanked the Omani government for assisitng in organizing eight direct Muscat-Yerevan flights launched on February 28, via which about 550 Armenian citizens returned to Armenia.
“It is a great honor for me to be the first Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia to visit the Sultanate of Oman, a country that deeply believes in diplomacy and acts as an advocate for peace,” Mirzoyan wrote in the Omani Foreign Ministry's guestbook.
