Tusk to Pashinyan: "Armenians are Highly Valued in Poland"
Following their meeting today in Warsaw, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Polish PM Donald Tusk held a press briefing summarizing relations between their two countries.
Tusk said that Armenian-Polish relations, as well as his personal relations with Pashinyan, have turned into friendship without any preconditions.
Tusk added that the two have similar goals.
“Armenians are highly valued in Poland,” Tusk said.
The Polish prime minister commended Pashinyan for taking difficult steps to achieve peace with Azerbaijan and we wished Armenia success in this endeavor.
Tusk also lauded Pashinyan for taking the “European path”, adding that the European Union is clearly open to expanding the European Union for all those countries that choose democracy, independence, peace.
Tusk also emphasized the importance of the military cooperation memorandum the two countries signed earlier today saying it will be beneficial not only for Armenia, but for the entire region.
Pashinyan said his visit to Poland marks a new stage in bilateral relations between Yerevan and Warsaw and thanked Poland for supporting Armenia’s democratic reforms and the peace process in the South Caucasus.
Pashinyan added that the path of freedom that Poland has taken and this process of building democracy, a democratic society, can serve as an example for Armenia.
