Iranians Stage Anti-Government Protests Outside Yerevan’s Iranian Embassy

For the third consecutive day, scores of Iranians have assembled in front of the Iranian Embassy in Yerevan in a sign of solidarity with the mass anti-government demonstrations in neighboring Iran.

Many of the Yerevan protesters are supporters of Reza Pahlavi, the son of the last Shah of Iran, whom they want to see as the country’s new leader.

The protesters say that all they want is freedom and that their homeland be returned to the people.

They complain that they cannot contact their relatives in Iran, as the authorities have turned off the internet.
