Two Armenian Companies Importing Azerbaijani Gasoline
Mega Trade LLC (Ran Oil gas stations) and Shisha World LLC have imported Azerbaijani gasoline into Armenia, this according to Armenia’s State Revenue Committee's (SRC) response to Hetq's inquiry.
Ran Oil (Mega Trade), whose imports were reported several days ago, is owned by the family of Khachatur Sukiasyan, a member of Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party.
Shisha World LLC, established in December 2022, is fully owned by Samvel Mkrtchyan according to Armenia's State Register of Legal Entities.
Hetq requested information from the SRC on companies importing gasoline to Armenia in 2025 and found that Shisha World LLC was not listed for the first ten months.
A Shisha World accountant who answered our phone call promised to pass on our message to management. Hetq plans to write about Shisha World soon.
On December 19, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced on his Facebook page that twenty-two train cars carrying 1,300 tons of Azerbaijani A95 gasoline were crossing the Armenia-Georgia border (Ayrum station). It arrived in Armenia via the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia railway.
Gulf Armenia, a gas station chain managed by the Sukiasyan family, informed Hetq today that it has not imported gasoline from Azerbaijan. The company further clarified that it would refrain from selling gasoline sourced by its affiliate, Ran Oil.
Gulf is an international brand that has been officially represented in Armenia by ArmReco LLC since 2024. It is part of Sil Capital, owned by the Sukiasyans.
Hetq will examine Armenia's gasoline market by reviewing import volumes, sources, and key participants in an upcoming article.
