Catholicos Karekin II, Former Artsakh Officials Meet
Armenian Apostolic Church Catholicos Karekin II today, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, met with former Artsakh officials for a discussion of issues related to overcoming the challenges faced by displaced Artsakh Armenians and protecting their rights.
The Artsakh delegation was led by Acting Artsakh President Ashot Danielyan and the Artsakh Primate Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan.
The parties, according to a statement released by the church, emphasized the importance of taking joint steps on international platforms to advocate for the rights of the people of Artsakh, the release of hostages and POWs held in Azerbaijan, and to preserve the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
An Artsakh government in exile continues to operate in Armenia despite the strong objections of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan.
