
Armenian Security Chief Laments Deaths of Iranians Killed in Recent Israeli Attacks
Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, during a telephone conversation today with Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian, conveyed his condolences to the families of those killed in the twelve-day Israel-Iran war and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
The two also discussed issues on the agenda of Armenia-Iran bilateral cooperation.
Grigoryan, according to his office, emphasized Armenia’s position on the issue of unblocking regional transportation links, based on territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction.
Ahmadian reaffirmed Iran’s position on lifting the blockade of Armenia and expressed support for Yerevan’s position.
The number of those killed in Iran during the recent fighting varies. Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRANA), a US-based organization, reported that over 900 people were killed and over three thousand wounded by Israeli strikes on Iran.
Iran’s Ministry of Health reported 610 deaths and 4,476 injuries.
