Pashinyan Says His Administration Will Not Tolerate Corruption in Judicary

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today said his government will not tolerate corruption in the country’s judiciary and noted that his administration has significantly increased salaries for state prosecutors, judges and investigators.

Pashinyan made the claim today during opening remarks at a two-day international conference that opened today in Yerevan reviewing the role of state prosecutors in Armenia.

The conference opened on July 1, when Armenia celebrates “Prosecutors’ Day”, which marks the establishment of the Prosecutor’s Office.

Pashinyan congratulated all prosecution service employees and expressed gratitude for their crucial work. He emphasized the key role of law enforcement in ensuring citizens’ access to the fundamental components of happiness – peace and/or security (both internal and external), justice, freedom, and prosperity.

Representatives from the prosecutor’s offices of seven European countries, two international prosecutorial organizations, the Council of Europe, prosecutors, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia attended today’s conference.
