
Pashinyan, Scholz Discuss Expanding Multi-Sector Cooperation
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met today on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany and discussed the agenda of Armenia-Germany bilateral relations and the prospects for deepening multi-sector cooperation.
They also touched upon regional security and stability issues.
Pashinyan, according to his office, presented the Armenian government’s efforts to establish peace in the region and provided details of his “Crossroads of Peace” initiative based on the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, equality and reciprocity, as well as developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
Scholz, in turn, noted that Germany is ready to continue supporting Armenia’s democratic reform agenda, as well as its efforts to establish peace. steps.
The parties reaffirmed their willingness to deepen cooperation and emphasized the importance of continuing bilateral political dialogue.
Pashinyan also met with Nechirvan Barzani, president of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region today, and discussed prospects for deeping business ties between Armenia and the semi-autonomous federal region in northern Iraq.
Armenia opened a consulate in Erbil, the Kurdistan Region’s capital, in 2021.
