Armenia Extradites Two "Organized Crime" Individuals to Türkiye

The Armenian Foreign Ministry issued the following statement regarding the extradition today of two individuals from Armenia to Türkiye who were involved in organized crime in Türkiye:

"On 19 January 19, 2025, Armenia extradited two individuals to Türkiye, who were involved in organized crime activities there, in response to a request from Interpol under its Red Notice."

According to the Turkish Daily Sabah news website, masked members of the Turkish police escorted Ercan Yılmaz and İbrahim Kaymak to Turkey by airplane.

The website says Yılmaz had been at large for the past fifteen years and Kaymak for the past six years.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, according to Daily Sabah thanked Armenian Deputy Justice Minister Tigran Dadunts for his cooperation in the arrest and extradition of two men.
