New Report Highlights Plight of Armenians Held in Azerbaijan
A new report by the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ) highlights Azerbaijan’s systematic violation of human rights and the ethnic cleansing of the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh.
The ECLJ, based in Strasbourg, is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights in Europe and worldwide.
The report writes: “Azerbaijan continues its campaign of systematic eradication of traces of the Armenian presence in the region, begun in 2020, destroying monasteries, churches, sacred sites and cemeteries.”
The report also highlights the plight of Azerbaijani political prisoners and that of former Nagorno Karabakh government officials now held in Azerbaijan.
