Hayastan All Armenian Fund Telethon Raises $15.3 Million
The November 28 Hayastan All Armenian Fund’s annual fundraising event - the 27th Telethon, themed “For you Armenia!” - has raised US$15.3 million so far.
Here’s a country breakdown of donations.
USA: $7,700,717
France: $3,430,000
Armenia: $1,218,185
Toronto (Canada): $1,052,000
Germany: $133,000
Netherlands: $50,000
Argentina and Brazil joint fundraising: $47,529
Great Britain: $40,000
Argentina: $39,000 (additional donations)
Australia: $20,000
Romania: $1,995
Anonymous donors from various countries: $1,570,000
The funds will be used for the following projects in Armenia.
- reconstructing and constructing new drinking and irrigation water systems in border communities,
constructing new community medical centers,
- installing solar plants in schools, kindergartens, and community centers located in border communities,
- installing solar water heaters in the houses of vulnerable families in border communities,
- strengthening business capabilities and empowering women forcibly displaced from Artsakh,
- supporting cultural and creative initiatives of Armenian artists as well as annual international cultural festivals and exhibitions.
Fundraising events are still ongoing, and final results will be summarized by the end of the year.
Last year’s Telethon raised $8.4 million.
