Armenia has won its first-ever medal in international para-skiing.

Garik Melkonyan, yesterday in Norway, came in third in the Men’s 8-kilometer Classic Standing competition.

The Armenian Ski Federation reports this was Melkonyan’s international competition debut.

Melkonyan will next participate in the XXXII World University Winter Sports Games to be held in Turin in January where para-sports will be included for the first time, as well as in the Para-skiing World Cup and World Championship to be held in Norway in February-March.
