Armenia's Participation in NATO Summit Upsets Russia
Russia is extremely unhappy about Armenia's participation in the NATO summit in Washington D.C., Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told RIA Novosti.
“Speaking about the security sphere, I would like to emphasize that Armenia remains a member of the CSTO and is a participant in numerous bilateral agreements in the military and military-technical fields,” the Russian state-owned news agency quotes him as saying.
The Russian official said by deepening cooperation at such a pace with those whose goal is the strategic defeat’ of Russia, Yerevan risks destabilizing the situation in the South Caucasus to the detriment of its own security.
“I think knowledgeable experts and politicians in Armenia understand the possible costs of such reckless steps,” Galuzin said.
