Archbishop to Pashinyan - "You have one hour to resign"

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of a protest movement opposing the Armenian government’s handover of Tavush Province border land to Azerbaijan, today issued an ultimatum to Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan – "You have one hour to resign!"

Tavush Primate Galstanyan announced the demand at a protest rally in Yerevan in opposition to the ongoing process to demarcate the border with Azerbaijan.

The church leader accused Pashinyan of lying to the people, misleading, and terrorizing them.

“We were not against peace or demarcation, or demarcation. But what is happening this way, unilaterally, kneeling, is unacceptable for us," said Galstanyan.

Galstanyan said he is ready to discuss his demands with the government. The archbishop said his supporters would launch a campaign of civil disobedience and initiate a "no confidence" vote in the parliament if Pashinyan doesn't step down.
