Georgian PM - "We have a close relationship with Armenia and Azerbaijan"

Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, at the panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos today, stated his government has “a very close relationship and partnership” with Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Garibashvili noted his government successfully negotiated an Azerbaijani release of Armenian war detainees in return for Armenia providing maps of mined territories in and around Nagorno Karabakh.

“We understand there are many players in this region, and what I want to add   is that I know that now the position of both leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia is that they want to deal with each other on a bilateral level,” he stated.

Garibashvili expressed his hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan can find a solution to their outstanding problems and will soon sign a peace agreement.
