Armenia, Iran Sign Labor Exchange Agreement
Armenia and Iran yesterday, in Tehran, signed a memo of understanding that obligates them to coordinate efforts to ensure employment, prevent illegal migration and simplify the labor exchange process.
The agreement was signed by Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan and his Iranian counterpart Seyed Soulat Mortazavi.
The agreement, according to a statement released by Mkrtchyan’s office, will facilitate the exchange of information about job vacancies in the two countries.
While the statement doesn’t clarify what is meant by the “labor exchange process”, it appears the two countries want to simplify laws allowing nationals of both countries to work in the other.
