
Azerbaijan Hosts Military Drills with Turkey Near Armenia
Azerbaijan’s defense ministry today announced the start of joint military drills with Turkey near the border with Armenia.
Up to 3,000 military personnel from various types of troops of both countries, 130 pieces of armored vehicles, up to 100 artillery vehicles, more than twenty aircraft as well as engineering equipment and small boats are involved in the “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk - 2023" joint tactical exercises.
The ministry reports drills are taking place around Baku, Nakhichevan, and the “liberated territories”.
The ministry reports the exercises are tasked with ensuring combat interoperability, improving management, exchanging experience, and increasing the professionalism of the servicemen during the troops’ interaction.
The drills end on October 25.
