Armenian Foreign Minister, Arab League Secretary-General Meet in Cairo
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit met in Cairo today abs discussed international and regional security issues.
Mirzoyan, according to his office, ridiculed Azerbaijan’s groundless attempts to manipulate the religious factor to undermine Armenia’s interactions with the Arab world.
The two emphasized that relations between the Armenian and Arab peoples are based on centuries-old friendship and mutual respect, noting the role of the Armenian communities in Arab countries.
Mirzoyan also informed Ahmed Aboul Gheit about the humanitarian crisis in Karabakh due to Baku’s ongoing blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
Armenia is an observer state in the 22-member League of Arab States.
