Armenian FM, EU Border Mission Members Discuss Specifics
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan today, in Yerevan, met with an advance unit of the European Union’s civilian mission to be deployed along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
Mirzoyan and members of the mission’s technical unit discussed where monitors will be placed along the border and the extent of their purview.
European Union foreign ministers today gave the final green light to the deployment of up to forty monitors to the border.
The mission was announced earlier this month following talks in Prague between Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron and European Council President Charles Michel. The four met on the sidelines of the first gathering of the European Political Community.
