Nancy Pelosi and Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan met in Yerevan today and discussed last week’s Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia.

Simonyan, according to a statement released by his office, thanked the U.S. for its role in facilitating a ceasefire along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

The two discussed steps needed to develop parliamentary relations between Armenia and the U.S.

Simonyan praised the actions of the Congressional Armenian Caucus (CAC) for its key role in strengthening of bilateral ties.

The two also discussed regional problems and bilateral cooperation.
