Pashinyan to Parliament: 105 Armenian War Dead

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today fielded questions from MPs regarding the fighting along Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan.

Here are the some of his keys points:

  1. Armenia’s allies are Russia and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)
  2. Azerbaijani troops have crossed into Armenia regardless of any talk that the border with Azerbaijan must still be demarcated and delimited.
  3. In addition to military intervention, Yerevan seeks to resolve the situation via political and diplomatic means.
  4. As of September 14, the number of confirmed Armenian soldiers killed is 105.
  5. Azerbaijani troops, since yesterday, have occupied ten square kilometers of Armenian territory in addition to the forty occupied in May 2021.
  6. Azerbaijan, by its actions, is attempting to annul provisions of the 2020 Artsakh war ceasefire agreement dealing with Nagorno Karabakh, the role of Russian peacekeepers and the Lachin Corridor.
