Pashinyan to Parliament: 105 Armenian War Dead
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today fielded questions from MPs regarding the fighting along Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan.
Here are the some of his keys points:
- Armenia’s allies are Russia and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)
- Azerbaijani troops have crossed into Armenia regardless of any talk that the border with Azerbaijan must still be demarcated and delimited.
- In addition to military intervention, Yerevan seeks to resolve the situation via political and diplomatic means.
- As of September 14, the number of confirmed Armenian soldiers killed is 105.
- Azerbaijani troops, since yesterday, have occupied ten square kilometers of Armenian territory in addition to the forty occupied in May 2021.
- Azerbaijan, by its actions, is attempting to annul provisions of the 2020 Artsakh war ceasefire agreement dealing with Nagorno Karabakh, the role of Russian peacekeepers and the Lachin Corridor.
