
Pashinyan, Iranian President Discuss Regional Development, Security
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi, by telephone today, discussed regional development and security challenges, this according to a statement released by Pashinyan’s office.
Pashinyan, according to the statement, presented Armenia’s position on recent clashes on the Armenian-Azerbaijan border and stressed the need to fully implement the trilateral agreements of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021.
Raisi reiterated the position, voiced by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei during the recent meeting with the presidents of Russia and Turkey, that Tehran would oppose any attempt to alter Iran’s borders in the South Caucasus.
Pashinyan said Armenia is ready to promote trade with Iran and to cooperate with Tehran to develop regional roadway and energy infrastructures.
