Armenia: Restaurant Smoking Ban Takes Effect

Starting today, smoking in all cafes, bars and restaurants in Armenia will be banned.

The Armenian Ministry of Health reports that the ban covers indoor and outdoor eating establishments. The ban also prohibits the use of tobacco substitutes.

Police will monitor the ban and issues fines of 150,000-200,000 drams to government officials in violation and 50,000 drams to all others.
