Police Arrest Yerevan Waste Removal Unit Director, Deputy for Embezzlement
Armenian police today arrested Armen Grigoryan, who heads the Yerevan Municipality’s Waste Removal and Sanitary Cleaning Unit for embezzlement and fraud.
The country’s Anti-Corruption Committee claims that Grigoryan, assisted by his deputy, listed people as employees with monthly salaries of 300,000 drams on the unit’s accounts.
These individuals, however, never showed up for work. Grigoryan and his deputy pocketed the salaries, amounting to 17 million drams during 2019-2020.
