Armenian President, UAE Company Sign Deal to Build Solar Plant in Armenia

During a recent working visit to the UAE, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, the CEO of Masdar, one of the leading international companies in the field of renewable energy and reached an agreement on the construction of another 200-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant in Armenia.

Masdar has already launched the "Ayg-1" project for the construction of a 200-megawatt photovoltaic power plant in Armenia.

An agreement for the “Ayg-1” plant was reached in 2019.

During his visit to the UAE, Sarkissian discussed the possibility of large-scale investments in wind energy with the CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, in particular, the construction of an additional 500-megawatt plant.

Masdar, also known as the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, is a UAE-government owned renewable energy company based in Abu Dhabi.
