ARF Calls Pashinyan a "Defeated Leader Rejected by the Nation"
The Bureau of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun has issued the following statement on the post-war domestic political situation in Armenia. The ARF argues that Pashinyan is a “defeated leader, rejected by the nation” who must immediately resign for the good of the country.
Almost four months have passed since the last war in Artsakh. Many of the vital problems of the war and its aftermath have not only not disappeared, but have deepened, and new ones have been added to the existing ones.
Four months on, the problems about the captives and the martyred soldiers are still unresolved. Moreover, negotiations are taking place behind the people's backs, the secrecy of which raises serious concerns. Rumors are circulating about possible economic and other dangerous deals made by defeated Armenian authorities with the Azerbaijani and Turkish sides, which carried out a military aggression against Artsakh.
The government, which has proved its inability over the past three years, also has no prescriptions for overcoming deepening economic and other issues within the country. The current national unrest in Armenia, led by the Homeland Salvation Movement, has once again erupted in Armenia, threatening the present and future of the Armenian nation and Armenian statehood.
The authorities are responding to the demand for the resignation of the Prime Minister with anti-democratic actions that suppress the free expression of the public will. The prosecution of criminal cases against opposition activists, short-term mass arrests, and the use of force have become official practices.
These steps taken by the forces that came to power under the slogans of democracy, civil society and the rule of law in the country, which directly lead to the formation of an authoritarian, police state, are of great concern. The concerns are most alarming when the Armenian people and the Armenian state face serious challenges in the face of the many challenges mentioned above.
The Bureau of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun, condemning the authorities for this situation created by them, calls on the latter to refrain from further aggravation of the situation, to act only within the framework of rule of law and democracy, to listen to the public, opposition forces and the Armenian President, the Armenian Catholicos, a significant part of the Diaspora, the intellectual, cultural, educational and other public strata, calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister without delay.
The leader, defeated by the enemy and rejected by the nation, has lost his administrative and moral power and is no longer able to lead the damaged Armenian ship through the waves to a peaceful and prosperous shore.
Only in the case of his resignation will there be an opportunity to achieve national solidarity, to restore order in state institutions and the army, to start with new vigor the elimination of military, political and other consequences of the war, to enter a new stage of strengthening and strengthening the Armenian statehood and Artsakh.
